Steve Malone has been a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) since 1971, serving in various capacities, and most recently as president in 2007.
In an exclusive interview with DA MAN! after one of the Awards ceremonies at Marriott Waterfront, the ex-president said the main focus of NSCAA is "education." He added that NSCAA recognizes the achievements of not only soccer coaches in the US, but also youngsters by giving "awards to honor players, as exhibited here today. We have all America watching today, and we've honored probably over 500 young athletes."
"Education is our big thing," he continued. "We have academies for coaches, and we feel that if we educate coaches, then they will teach the players." Talking about the NSCAA-led clinics at the Convention, Malone described them as "the best in the world."
The NSCAA is the world's largest association for soccer coaches.
